I LOVE WHAT I DO! FUN, EASY GOING, NO PRESSURE PHOTO SESSIONS !!

I am a work at home mother to 3 daughters-ages 10, 9, and 2. I have been taking photographs for 9 years. I left the "corporate" world of banking and finance to pursue my passion.

I started my photography business with one goal in mind-BE DIFFERENT. I wanted to provide quality photography at an affordable price.

I don't like the word "cheese"--I strive for natural expressions from your child--I believe that a pout is just as beautiful as a smile. I will encourage your child to play, to be themselves, to interact with me. While "traditional", posed photography is fantastic, it is not my style. I prefer to be more of an observer in order to capture the "true and real" qualities of my subjects. If you are looking for a more traditional type of photography, then I will happliy refer you to another great photographer. With me, you will get something that is different from the norm.

My mission is to have beautiful photos that can be cherished for generations by family and friends. My goal is to capture your special moments and make them last a lifetime!

Thank you for considering B4 Photography to preserve your memories!

Please check out my other websites for more photos and more information about sevices and pricing!

Please don't be mad at me.....

...but there are no pictures to display in this post...this is simply for information...

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to everyone who is patiently waiting on CDs. I am still running 4-5 days behind but I PROMISE that I am working as hard as I can to get done. April was an overwhelmingly busy month! I loved meeting all of the new families and traveling to new cities to meet some brand new babies!

I have started on the day one bluebonnets sessions and I feel horrible about how poorly they turned out. I cannot control the weather and that was the reason that the pics are not what I know that they can be! Cooler than expected weather and a wind from hell made for some unhappy kiddos that day!
All of them (expect for a couple of sessions) look fairly disappointing. I am going to come up with some way to try to make it up to all those day one people whose pics are less than what I would want myself.

Please continue to be patient with me---I do not believe in rushing through pictures just so I can get them off of my computer--I look at each one individually--no batch processing--I really do want them to look their best!!

Previews......

OK...it is technically the 17th since it is a little after midnight...but it takes time to get this many pics ready for previews--PLUS, it was my turn to put the baby to bed!

If you don't see your pics here, then I am very sorry, but there will not be anymore previews until I am caught back up. PLEASE do not message me or email me asking to see "just one"--you know I love my clients, but I have to focus on getting back on track! I know y'all would rather I work on your CD rather than a preview anyway, right?

If you do see your photos here, then know that I am working to get them done....Lindsay, Cindy, Kellie, Amy C and Jeni S--your CDs will be mailed tomorrow or Fri.

I am running behind a bit (3-4 days behind) because of not having a computer due to the storms last week and also because of the other mess with my termite ridden house and my car being stolen last week. Kinda threw me off my groove!

I hope everyone loves their photos---I think I had the best bunch EVER in April! SOOOOOO many cute kiddos!!!

If you are wondering about the unusually lively music--I need something to keep me groovin'--and, YES, I am a dork who listens to her own blogspot music!

In no particular order...

For Amy P.

Maya wasn't too sure about me at first!

I PINKIE SWEAR PROMISE.....

that I will have previews up for SEVERAL people waiting on CDs tonight (the 16th).
It takes time to do these, and with all that I have going on personally (the termites, roof damage, and car stolen), it is hard to get CDs out on time. Matter of fact, if you haven't gotten a call from me that your CD is ready, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE forgive me and allow me a few extra days (I am currently running about 4 days behind schedule). I am working as hard as my energy will allow! I appreciate all of the well wishes that have been sent my way and the continued patience from everyone.

So--check back tomorrow...previews will be up!!!

48 hours of HELL!

I don't usually blog about personal happenings, but this kinda affects my business, so I thought I should probably vent a little....They say bad things come in threes.

1) On Wednesday night, my dear husband came home and called for me to come to our bathroom--we discovered that we have termites coming out of our bathroom ceiling.
Two VERY EXPENSIVE quotes later, we have Terminex coming out to treat our home today.

2) Also, on Wednesday night, we had those terrible storms--which ripped SEVERAL shingles off of my roof and caused water damage in my oldest daughter's bedroom.

I truly thought that there was no way that anything else could happen to us....
I was wrong.

3) Thursday night--apparently someone stole my car between the hours of 1:30 and 5:00am. My wallet was in there, my baby's carseat, my brand new stroller, my navigation, my laundry, almost all of my newborn props, a ton of my tutus and pettiskirts, a huge amount of my glamRbaby bows, my backdrops and my backdrop stand. GONE. I have my camera--thank God--but a ton of stuff that I use regularly is gone--probably forever.

I know that some of you are waiting for your promised preview--I'm sorry that I haven't delivered. At this point, I am going to be struggling to get CDs out in time. If I get a spare moment, then I will put up some previews. Please be patient with me...it has been a really rough 48 hours.

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep....

I have been an affiliate photographer for this wonderful organization since last September. The reason for my post is to provide information for the general public and to hopefully recruit some great photographers to help with the cause.

This organization was started in 2005 by Cheryl Haggard and Sandy Puc. Cheryl lost her son Maddux and asked Sandy to document the last moments that they would ever have with her baby. In retrospect, Cheryl found that the photos offered her relief and comfort. It allowed her to remember her son--the fine details such as his pouty lips and the way his fingers wrapped around hers. It helped to ease the pain and it also gave her an ability to share those moments with her family and friends. Something tangible to say, "he was here and he was loved".

Death is often an uncomfortable subject, however, it is one that people must face daily. This is not a "gross" organization. We are not "death photographers"--we are documenting a life--one that was cut too short. A life is a life...no matter how brief. It is worth celebrating and deserves recognition.

Over 3200 photographers in 12 countries are now a part of this organization. Unfortunately, most families who lose a baby find out about us too late. This is why it is so important to educate the public and the hospitals that we are here to help.

Another issue is having enough photographers to help cover the high demand. I know first hand that we need more help in Dallas. I know that many good hearted people read this blog...many are photographers. If you are interested in being considered as an affiliate photographer, then please visit the website www.nowilaymedowntosleep.com.

If you would like to assist me in a session sometime, then please email me

A Fun Family...

I have photographed this handsome little man a few times now, but this time I got to capture his family together.
Mom is sweet as sugar and Dad is a hoot--he had me laughing so hard with is funny faces and silly songs. Sometimes, I wish that I could have someone take a photo of what goes on behind me while I am taking the kids' picture--the parents are awesome about getting silly and singing and dancing in order to help me get that perfect look--TRUST ME--those would be some pretty funny photos!!

See how silly Dad was??
